"This contemporary diorama presents Harihara, the composite of Shiva and Vishnu, seated in royal ease before a rising flame aureole. The figure is four-armed: Shiva’s hands bear the trident and offer protection, with a serpent at the throat and tiger-skin drape; Vishnu’s hands raise the Sudarshana chakra and a boon, the torso adorned with vaishnava jewels. At the base a hooded naga unfurls, while monumental profiles of Garuda and Nandi flank the throne like living backrests.
Iconographically, Harihara proclaims the non-duality of Shaiva and Vaishnava paths—consciousness and preservation joined in one serene body. Nandi embodies steadfast dharma; Garuda speed and vigilant protection."
